LET’S GO GLAMPING! The Lotus Resort is a premier Glamping resort. Glamping is defined as a luxury form of camping, blending natural experience of outdoor camping with more glamorous amenities. Community: Habitation around The Lotus is a fragile community. We work hard to strengthen and support this community with our time, talent and treasure. Spanning a huge and rugged geographical area – yet from a population standpoint, it’s tiny. There are fewer people living here than other parts of Lonavala. There is no city center around The Lotus. We all work hard to strengthen & support this community with our time and talent. Environment: The Lotus Resort is a true Eco Resort. Our guests love and care about the natural world and want to preserve its beauty and health. Before a pencil ever hit paper in the design of The Lotus Resort over two years ago we agreed we would be about “perching lightly”. This means we strive to create as light a footprint on the earth as possible. We can assure you that not a week goes by that we don’t re-assess and attempt to increase the ways we are environmentally conscious. Our guests have contributed to our efforts with their ideas and we, in turn, work hard to be an inspiration to them. Here is a ongoing list of many things we already do that put the concept of “perching lightly” into practice: •We recycle all cans, bottles, paper, cardboard, glass, plastic and batteries •We use recycled and compostable components wherever possible. Even the coffee stir sticks are pasta noodles to save on trees. •All kitchen scraps from the restaurant are fed to our happy pets or composted at our organic garden where we have an extensive vermiculture/ compost program. Manish, our Garden Manager is always happy to share and inspire. •We grow most of our vegetables on site in our organic garden and supplement from buying additional produce from our neighbors and other locally sourced high quality purveyors. •We are completely off the grid. In future, for our electrical needs we will utilize windmill and watermills that will be installed on the waterfall in our premises of The Lotus Resort. •Our exterior site lighting is low voltage and downcast so that we can all enjoy the beautiful star filled night skies. Unwanted light can be considered pollution. •We utilize high efficiency pumps, LED or CFL lighting throughout the site and the use of skylights in all of our Lotus belle tents to reduce our electrical demand. •When we remodel or no longer need an appliance, fixture or building materials we donate them to Habitat for Humanity or put it into the hands of our neighbors. Are you enthusiastic about gardens, nature, camping and glamour? All of this and much more can be found in our glamping tent. A romantic Lotus tent on the dock is suitable for pampering for two or it can offer an adventure for the whole family. Little hanging bridges and waterfall below will fascinate your children, while the tinkling of water will roll you into sweet dreams. The Lotus Buds inspired tent on the dock is furnished with a double bed, a mini fridge, Portable Air Conditioner Bamboo Garment rack, and a chest to store your luggage with coffee table on the private deck of the tent. Most tents have direct access to a stream with a beautiful trail so you can cool down during hot summer days in the shade of majestic trees. The tents connected with the dock are suitable for families and smaller parties. Private attractive bamboo Washroom with ultramodern facility including Rain Shower are interfuse with each tent with fascinating approach paths and small rope bridge. TREE TENT: Romantic, adventurous and exclusive! Conquer your fear of heights in our tree tents and catch your dreams in a special adventure hammock Tent. Sleeping in a tree tent will fulfill your childhood dreams and guarantee an unforgettable adventure for your children. Morning coffee between the trees and romantic evening atmosphere is without doubt a magical experience and a perfect way to relax. The tent will come with a complementary Dome tent with interior offers warmth and comfort. “We are a small, intimate venue that loves to cater to couples, individual and small families and welcomes groups up to 70 persons. Maintaining a peaceful, romantic, quiet atmosphere for all guest is a priority for us. We ask you respect this policy and the experience for other guests.” Thank you for your understanding. Sorry! But we do not permit TOURING or WALKING THE GROUNDS unless you are a registered guest – this is to protect the privacy and promote the serenity stay-over guests expect (You’ll appreciate the same policy when you come to stay overnight!) Pets are allowed in the resort. NEW! In cold spring and autumn days, the Tent is pleasantly warm due to insulation feature of the Lotus canvas tent.
